Pivot Legal Society Poster

Pivot Legal Society is a Vancouver legal advocacy group that uses the law to address the root causes of poverty and social exclusion. Since 2001 they have worked for sex workers' rights, for police accountability, harm reduction, and low-income housing.

I was part of an anti-poverty organization that used to share an office with Pivot when they first started in 2001 in Blood Alley in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside so it was great to work them and see how they have grown as an organization.

This poster was for their annual fundraising event, Passion for Justice. The poster incorporates Pivot's Hope in Shadows calendar project, red umbrellas symbolizing sex worker rights and Pigeon Park in the Downtown Eastside.

Hand drawn poster, finished in Photoshop.
